  A bright and cheerful day took us to Tring; following a close match last weekend with the Tornados we expected much of the same. A closely matched opening 10 minutes led to a free kick for Tring on the edge of the area, a great strike and the Falcons were a goal down to a boy wearing pink gloves!.

  Showing great determination and teamwork, it wasn’t long before we were back in it when Jordan was tripped in the penalty area. Up stepped Oliver and showing great composure he placed the ball in the back of the net. 1-1.

  Shortly after, another free kick for the Tornados and again they went for height, Gabby got his hands to it but Tring got a head on it and it was 2-1. With a bit of indecision in the Tring defence, it was soon level at 2-2 when Stephens shot found the back of the net just before half time.

  The second half was different, Nascot took the route of ‘attack being the best defence’ and commanded the game. Some lovely passing moves and bursts of speed made sure the ball stayed firmly planted in the Tring half of the pitch. Showing the Nascot spirit of last season, we went 3-2 up when Jordan capped his MOTM performance with a great goal.

  Tring threatened to come back into it with a late flourish which took us by surprise, Alex W frightened everyone with a dramatic goal line clearance, and Charlie Cole put the cherry on the cake to make it 4-2 at the final whistle.

  Without exception, every boy played a part in the win today, and their efforts were justifiably rewarded
