2004 2005 UNDER 12

5/12/05 NWR 8 – 5 Leverstock Green

13 goal thriller, as Rangers take the laurels

Nascotwood took all three points in a thrilling 13 goal encounter. In a game which included special praise for stand in ‘keeper Ashley Tibble, and a double hat-trick for Alex Willerton.‘Wood opened the account with Alex’s first, before Jordan Tibbles turned in Alex’s corner. Leverstock pulled one back, only for Alex to add another two for his first hat-trick. Leverstock then added another just before half time, but straight after the break Alex hit another, then great work from James Schmidt who ran down the right flank shrugging off numerous tackles, and hitting a shot which the ‘keeper couldn’t hold. This resulted in Steve Swain turning the ball over the line for Nascotwoods 6th. Alex then ran through to make it 7 before Green showed great bouncebackability, hitting another three, to make the score 7 – 5. Alex then completed his second hat-trick hitting the roof of the net from a free-kick.

This was just the result Nascotwood needed, and praise must be given to all the players for getting the ball forward quickly for the strikers to deal with.

21/11/04 Alexander Park 5 – 1 NWR

‘wood get a taste of “Parklife”

The under 12’s slumped to a 5 –1 defeat against a strong Alexander Park. A strike from Sam Morton put Rangers back into the match at 2 – 1, but it wasn’t enough on the day.

11/11/04 Nascotwood Rangers 6 –4Herons

 ‘wood victors in yo-yo match

Nascotwood turned up trumps in a game which swung one way, then the other. ‘wood opened the scoring when Alex Willerton ran past the Herons defence and hit the ball for the first, before his corner fell to Aaron Evans for the second. Against the run of play, Herons pulled two back, before going in front. James Schmidt equalised for Nascot. Herons then went into the lead again only for Jordan Tibbles to connect sweetly to make it 4 – 4. Spurs V Arsenal sprung into thoughts as Steve Swain put Rangers in front again, and Schmidty finally sealed the victory with his second of the match.

7/11/04 NWR 5 - 3 Enfield Green

Despite taking a 2 - 0 lead, Greens pulled it back to 2 - 3 before a late rally put Rangers in the driving seat for a 5 - 3 win.

31/10/04 Riverside 1 NWR 3

Great strikes from James Schmidt, Aaron Evans and Alex Willerton ensured a fine victory over Riverside Hibs.

10/10/04 Harpenden Vultures 5 - 1 Nascotwood Rangers

Rangers savaged by Vultures

Nascotwood were finally overcome by Harpenden Vultures who are one of the better side. A lone strike by Alex Willerton in the first half couldn't count, as the Vutures overcame their visitors.

3/10/04 NWR 2 - 0 Berkhamstead Raiders

Rangers run Raiders Ragged

Nascotwood came away with a deserved win against Berko in a friendly this week. Steve Swain opened the scoring for 'wood after good combination play, but they had to wait until late in the second half for one of Shaban Ahmeds specials from outside the area to make it safe. Steve Cotton showed great composure when dealing with the oppositions attack, and Ben Cooke showed that he could deal with any aerial assault.

26/9/04 Sarratt Rebels 3 – 4 Nascotwood Rangers

The Cup is the carrott, as ‘wood beat Sarratt.

Scorers: Alex Willerton (2), Aaron Evans, James Schmidt

The Under 12’s overcame Sarratt in the 1st Round of the Challenge Cup in what was a thrilling encounter. Alex Willerton opened the scoring, after good work from Steve Swain had put him through. The story of the game unfolded as Rebels equalised, only for Aaron Evans then to get the goal he “kneeded”, from Alex’s corner. Sarratt pulled another back, only for great determination from James Schmidt to put us back in the driving seat. Again Sarratt scored to make it 3 –3, but then Nascotwood showed the neversaydie attitude, and their bouncebackability was confirmed when Schmidty pulled the ball to the left, hit it into the middle, and Alex struck his second with a thumping drive past the ‘keeper. Praise this week to Joe Brown. He has stood in the background for quite a while, but if he continues to advance in the way he has done since the season started, he will be well in the spotlight before long.

19/9/04 (League Cup) Away V Alexander Park Lost 1-4

Despite the score line ‘wood played quite well. A lone cracker of a strike from Sammy Moreton five minutes from the end couldn’t add any further bouncebackability to Nascotwoods game.

16/9/04 (League Cup) Home V Evergreen  Lost 2-4

Despite going one up with a goal direct from Alex Willertons corner, Evergreen hit 4 before Shaban Ahmeds super strike.

12/9/04 Bedmond 8 NWR 0

Rangers were brushed aside by a very strong and well organised Bedmond side, despite the fact that we had two linesmen ??? (Cryptic)

5/9/04 NWR 5 Hadley Wood 2

Aaron Evans x2

Alex Willerton

Anthony Johnson

James Schmidt

Nascot got off to a flying start to the season with a good win against strong opposition. Set on their way by a great solo effort from Aaron Evans, who doubled his goal tally later in the game. Strikes from Alex Willerton, Anthony Johnson and James Schmidt completed the scoring.
