A magnificent start for the youngest team in the club. A bit of fun for the lads and a chance to show off some of the skills in store for the future of the club. Due to illness we were a bit short on the day with only 5 under 6's showing up, so with a very sporting agreement from the Kings Langley coach permission was given for Max Comissiong (U8 Falcons) to go in goal. The team of Benjamin Plunkett, Jamie Glenn, Lewis Comissiong, Luke Carey and Elliot Greg went to work on the home side weathering some early pressure and creating some chances of their own. Lewis had the back door firmly closed and Elliot, Ben and Jamie challenged for every ball in the midfield. Luke Carey (who would actually be an under 5 if we had such a team) kept the Langley defence on red alert with some fantastic runs into the opposition half. A battling display was summed up towards the end of the first half when Ben collected the ball and ran the wing past three players to coolly slot a masterful shot into the back of the net giving the visiting side the advantage.
The second half started with us playing 5 against 7 as poor Elliot Greg had battled through the first half not feeling well but had to retire from the second half. The Nascot young guns dug deep and held off attack after attack from a fired up Kings Langley, but never to be out done the Colts hit the home side on the break and forced a penalty which was saved by the home keeper. Kings Langley then really applied the pressure leaving us defending to the last man and eventually holding on for a deserved victory. Well done both teams.
