Match Report
Falcons victorious in a good old fashioned mud-bath slog.  This was always going to be a tricky encounter as Abbots were desperate to get revenge for last weeks defeat, the away side put our lads under immediate pressure and took the early lead as we struggled to come to terms with a very heavy pitch.  The Abbots boys kept us under wraps for the whole of the first half never allowing the Falcons a foothold in the game.  The half ended 1 - 0 to the visitors.

The second half was a credit to the high flying Falcons as they never gave up and came from behind thanks to 2 goals from Nick Cortes and Michael Stapleton.  We enjoyed some gritty, determined midfield work from Ben Vis, Jack Hawley, Michael Houbart, Jay Herridge and Ian Richards which kept us in the game and allowed our come back.  Richard McCarthy was again very impressive up front and selflessly enhanced the team effort.  The returning Ronnie Forbes had a superb game in defence showing some great form and stout tackling and Max Comissiong made some magnificent saves to keep us in the race.  A great team performance, well done the Falcons.

Match Report
A fiery display for a cold February morning saw Nascot Wood run out victors against a determined Abbots Youth side.  The Falcons had the Lions share of possession in the first half which was rewarded with many attempts by our forward pairing of Richard McCarthy and Michael Stapleton.  The pressure paid off mid way through the first half when a great pass was intercepted and converted by the deadly boots of Michael "The Beast" Stapleton.  The team continued to press the advantage with some very impressive midfield work from Jay Herridge, Ben Vis, Michael Houbart and Jack Hawley.  The good work in midfield was complimented by an awesome defensive display by Nick Cortes who was taking on up to three of the home team single-handedly (well done Nick the best performance so far this season).  Max Comissiong continued his recent run of form in goal making some great saves and keeping his first clean sheet.   The half ended 1 - 0.  The home team got their tails up in the second half and put us under some intense pressure and really made a battle of it.  The Wood showed their defensive credentials holding Abbots at bay for most of the half and then hit them on the break to double the lead a make it 2 for Michael.  The move of the game came when Richard and Michael linked up with some excellent passing to give Michael his hat-trick and complete a fantastic and enjoyable game.

Match Report
A rainy day nearly saw this game called off, but we did eventually manage to kick off.  The work out from the day before must have had the desired result as we got off to a great start keeping the home team under pressure and most of the play in their half.  The midfield of Sam Waller, Ben Vis and Nick Cortes produced a very assured performance, keeping the ball and running into dangerous positions.  Jack Hawley and Michael Houbart had a tremendous game at the back limiting the home teams opportunities and also managing to support the midfield.  The standard of the team play was exemplified by Michael Stapleton whose non-stop running and excellent finishing saw him bag five goals.  The two substitutes came on towards the end of the first half Richard McCarthy producing some great link-up play to produce two of the goals and a typical high octane performance by Jay Herridge working end to end of the pitch and putting in tackle after tackle.  A special mention needs to go to Max Comissiong who has really come into his own in goal over the last few games making some very good and brave saves and was a major contributing factor in the positive score line.

Come on you Falcons

Match Report
A good run out for the boys, the game was split into 3 x 20 min games the first of which was a very even game which Watford nicked 1 - 0 at the end of the game, the boys played well and were just starting to get used to each other.

Game number 2 allowed us to make some changes which unfortunately did not work too well and the home side beat us 4 - 0

We then changed again to a formation which worked better for us and mixed with some fine goalkeeping from Max Comissiong allowed us to contain the Watford side and finished a respectable 1 - 0.

As a team we very much enjoyed the day and learned a lot about ourselves. We would also like to express our sincere thanks to Graham Willerton and Watford FC for the complimentary tickets to the Watford vs Coventry game which again was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Sunday 29th January 2006Result:Scorers:Man Of The Match:
Chorley Wood Falcons v. NWR Falcons

0 - 0

Match Report
A good solid start for The new U8 Falcons.  The first attempt at goal came from a stinging long range effort by Ben Vis which was well stopped by the home goal keeper.  Nascot kept up the pressure for the opening minutes but Chorley Wood then found their feet and came back into the game.  The half finished goalless as did a keenly fought second half, Nascot Wood were comfortably on top for the last period but just could not find the back of the net.

A good first time performance displayed a lot of talent for the Falcons and shows a lot of promise for the future.
