Falcons victorious in a good old fashioned mud-bath slog. This was always going to be a tricky encounter as Abbots were desperate to get revenge for last weeks defeat, the away side put our lads under immediate pressure and took the early lead as we struggled to come to terms with a very heavy pitch. The Abbots boys kept us under wraps for the whole of the first half never allowing the Falcons a foothold in the game. The half ended 1 - 0 to the visitors.
The second half was a credit to the high flying Falcons as they never gave up and came from behind thanks to 2 goals from Nick Cortes and Michael Stapleton. We enjoyed some gritty, determined midfield work from Ben Vis, Jack Hawley, Michael Houbart, Jay Herridge and Ian Richards which kept us in the game and allowed our come back. Richard McCarthy was again very impressive up front and selflessly enhanced the team effort. The returning Ronnie Forbes had a superb game in defence showing some great form and stout tackling and Max Comissiong made some magnificent saves to keep us in the race. A great team performance, well done the Falcons.
